Monster Parade.

I love watercoloring.

I need to put together a cohesive story for these images. They get a nice response from viewers that wander through during the Art Walk.

Alexa and her furry hat.

For Alexa's birthday I drew her a small comic of her and I in a bookstore.

In terms of dialogue, I wanted to do something like Roy Lichtenstein. In all of his pieces there is a completely out of context statement, but it really gives it a sense of mystery.

Off to Lopez Island!

LINES LINES LINES

Really digging stark black and white line drawings these days. Playing around with figures and faces is one of the best exercises I can give myself to inevitably put together that graphic novel I've been talking about for half a century.

Gabriel Reuben Dikel

DISCLAIMER: THIS IS NOT MY ART! NOT MINE!

A few years ago, before I left CCA I met an incredible artist whom I consider an inspiration and close friend. Behold....Gabriel Dikel.

Creating awe-inspiring portraits, he works in just about every medium: oil, acrylic, watercolor, graphite, you name it.

I ripped a few samples from his Flickr.

Danny Dikel, his brother. Also a very talented artist.

Sadly (for me) he is leaving the West Coast for New York sometime next summer, off to bigger and better things.
